SG50 Rebuild Your Memories

Made a trip down to Raffles City to check out another SG50 tribute, this time by Lego Singapore. The exhibit, called Rebuild Your Memories, showcases the top 10 winning entries from its #LegoRebuildSG contest.

Unlike most Lego activities which are held at the 3rd level atrium of the Raffles City mall (don't assume this is the location like silly me did kekeke) this one is front and center and gets more foot traffic as it is nearer to the hallway leading to the City Hall MRT. Look for the MAC store or Agnes B if you get lost.

Anyway, back to the individual lego displays. The winning entries are from winners as young as 6 years old (like this description card for the SBS Double-Decker Bus entry says) to winners as youthful as 51 years old! Indeed, creativity knows no age limits.

Here are some of the other entries (with their respective info cards so you can read about the winner's inspiration in creating them)

My 2 personal favorites are the following (Lion Dance and Mama Shop)

The Fire Cracker and Lion Dance

Check out Auntie and Uncle hanging out in the crowd - actually check out that cool crowd hahaha, including the little boy's ice cream cone (which is almost as tall as he is hehe)

The Mama Shop

I loved the pile of newspapers and the kitty (doggy?) in front of the Mama shop

The different personalities hanging out at the HDB void deck

And the hipster on the 2nd level of the HDB (plus the adorable window shutters!)

That said, it was a good 20 minutes spent. If you have kids or are just a kid at heart, make your way down to Raffles City before the exhibit ends.

But remember how I mentioned that most Lego events are held on the 3rd level of Raffles City? There's going to be one more SG50 tribute from Lego, as everyone is invited to help build an 8.5 food lego dragon playground alongside Lego-certified pro Nicholas Foo at the Atrium from 21 July to 25 July 2015!

More details here :)

Hope to see you at one of these events! :)

Have a brickin' awesome day! ツ
