SG50 Commemorative Set - Building My SG

, , No Comments
This is quite a late post since this Lego set has been given to students and teachers for free months ago. I never thought my boss, who is also a Lego collector and enthusiasts, will give me one. Yey thanks boss!=)

What's Included? Features?
  • 244 number of pieces
  • It's like a 3 in 1 Creator set. Can be used to build the three iconic Singapore landmarks - the Cavenagh Bridge, Changi Control Tower, and the Supertrees from Gardens by the Bay.
The Lego set is for students to learn more about Singapore's landmarks, and it's significance with the Countries continued progress.

1)  Cavenagh Bridge
The  oldest  bridge  in  Singapore  existing  in  its  original  form,  Cavenagh  Bridge  is  a metaphor of how Singapore’s present and future is linked to its past. Its location on the Singapore River enables students to explore  the important role played by the river in Singapore’s early development, as well as the continuing importance of trade to Singapore.  It  also  serves  to  remind  us  of  the  importance  of  building  and  maintaining relationships within our community and with the rest of the world.

2) Changi Airport

Changi Airport symbolises not only Singapore’s connection with the rest of the world, but  also  both its  place  as  and  aspiration  to  be  a  global  hub.  It  has  also  established itself  firmly  as  a  familiar  and  heartwarming  icon,  being  the  first  landmark  many Singaporeans see upon returning home. Our award-winning airport is a reminder that excellence  is  a  matter  of  continually  remaining  open  to  and  learning  from  the  rest  of the world.

3) Gardens by the Bay
The  Gardens  by  the Bay  is  a  metaphor  for  the  crucial  role  of  sustainability  in maintaining   our   success.   The   decision   to   build   a   garden   and   two   temperate conservatories meant for Singapore’s people on prime land exemplifies three things: first, our ingenuity and courage in overcoming our limitations, second, our commitment to  providing  a  liveable  space  for  our  citizens,  and  third, our  vision  of  a  green Singapore for the future.

This time I skipped my speed building video but I managed to build the 3 versions. This is an educational, fun and super easy build for the kids and parents.

I heard that they will make this set available in the market soon. So those who wanted to buy please wait and not give in to those online sellers who are selling one set for over a hundred bucks. OMG.

Have a brickin' awesome day!
